Dr. Daniel Cheung is a graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, where he earned a doctoral degree in economics with specialization in international finance, monetary economics, and applied econometrics. Dr. Cheung was an associate professor at the Finance department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), and he was the Course Director of the Diploma Course in Finance, which was jointly organized by Asia-Pacific Institute of Business and Department of Finance, CUHK. Dr. Cheung was the course founder and director of Diploma in Finance program organized by the Department of Accounting and Finance of Lingnan University. Dr. Cheung was actively involved in the executive training courses for the following multinational corporations and organizations in Hong Kong SAR and China: Hutchison Whampoa Limited, Hang Seng Bank Limited, AIA Life Insurance, Sun Life Financial, AXA, Zurich Insurance Group, senior officials of the Hong Kong SAR government, Shanghai Open University, Bank of China in Shenzhen and Guangzhou and China National Offshore Oil Corporation.

Dr. Cheung gives lectures in Financial Management, Investments and Portfolio Management, Money and Banking, Monetary Economics, Macroeconomics for Business Executives, Fixed Income Securities, Risk Management, International Money and Finance, Quantitative Finance and Financial Econometrics courses to both undergraduate and graduate students. Dr. Cheung's recent research interests include the performance of stock markets in Pacific-Rim countries; the inter-relationship between macroeconomic variables and stock returns in Hong Kong as well as in Asian-Pacific countries. Currently, Dr. Cheung also examines the shocks to the stock markets and the US Quantitative Easing (QE) Policy. Dr. Cheung has presented papers at several economics and finance conferences in Hong Kong, Singapore, and the US. Some of these papers have been published in international and regional journals, such as Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, Applied Economics, Applied Financial Economics, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, Asia Pacific Journal of Management. Dr. Cheung has also contributed a chapter in the text entitled Asian Money Markets published by Oxford University Press, chapters in the Security Manual published by the Hong Kong Stock Exchanges Ltd, and a chapter about Hong Kong’s Debt Market in The Other Hong Kong Report 1996, published by CUHK press.
